Phelps sets world record in 200m butterfly(Xinhua)Updated: 2007-02-18 09:18 WASHINGTON - American swimmer Michael Phelps set a new world record in the men's 200m butterfly when he clocked one minute 53.71 seconds at the Missouri Grand Prix swimming meeting on Saturday. Phelps bettered the previous world mark of 1:53.80 that he set on August 17 at the Pan Pacific Championships in Victoria, Canada, last year. |
