When Pupi decided to start a band right after graduating from the Guangzhou Xinghai Conservatory of Music early last year, she gathered three friends - Abe Gan, guitarist, Yuxin, bassist, and Li Sitong, drummer -and launched Bigger Bang, with herself as vocalist. In just four months, they had brought out their first four songs. The indie rock band then swept the live houses in the capital with their energetic and pulsating sounds. Pupi's lazy yet powerful voice earned her fans quickly. By the end of the year, the band had lost their bassist, who was replaced by Li Yu. They entered a local music contest and won the best song of the year award, beating dozens of other young bands. Meanwhile, they also released their first live DVD and continued their weekly stormy live performances. The band is now ready to release their debut album of nine songs, all written in English.
