A 42-inch liquid crystal display (LCD) television cost at least 10,000 yuan seven or eight years ago, but nowadays the same television can be bought for only 3,000.
It is BOE Technology Group Co., a supplier focusing on semiconductor display technologies, products and services, that has helped prices to plunge.
In 2011, China's first self–design and self-built production line of LCD panels in global mainstream high generation–BOE's 8.5 generation of TFT–LCD production line–realized volume production in Etown, marking the moment when China broke the absolute monopoly of world famous manufacturers of 40 inch or larger LCD panels on the Chinese mainland.
