Guangzhou Tianhe Central Business District (Tianhe CBD) has formed a high-end industrial pattern focusing on headquarters economy and modern commerce, financial services and commercial services. It has become a comprehensive functional zone integrating headquarters, and commercial office space.
In 2015, Tianhe CBD achieved a gross domestic product (GDP) of 242.7billion yuan, accounting for around 12.5 percent of the total GDP of Guangzhou. Its average GDP per square kilometer hit 20.2 billion yuan, 80 times the average level in Guangzhou.
