The fourth Qingdao International Beer Festival, picking a dog called Wang Wang as its mascot, took place in Stone Man National Tourism Resort from August 14 to 24, 1994. With a number of newly-built beer plazas, castles and houses, Qingdao proved to the rest of the world that it was “the city of beer”. During the festival, the local government signed a contract with officials from Bavaria, Germany, for Chinese-German cooperation in the beer business.
