Yanqing county, under Beijing administration, is a pilot for scientific and technological innovation in grape growing and is celebrating a big harvest, which attracted many pickers recently, even during the hot summer.

The county is known for the quality of its grapes and wine, thanks to some favorable growing conditions, such as the abundant sunlight and well-equipped greenhouses and the greater industrialization of grape growing in recent years for both eating and making wine.

The grapes for eating are grown on a 1,334–hectare piece of land, and the wine grapes on roughly 333.5 hectares with 1,000 greenhouses and an annual yield of more than 6.8 million kilograms.

The county has cultivated top-quality breeds itself and has explored advanced techniques for year-round production, which can cut the costs of greenhouse cultivation.
