A ceremony was held in Hancheng, Shaanxi province, to commemorate Sima Qian, a historian during Western Han Dynasty(202 BC – 9 AD) known for his work Records of the Grand Historian, as the city tries to promote tourism.
Scholars from China, Japan, Italy and South Korea, as well as six descendants of Sima Qian attended the ceremony, sponsored by a local cultural industry company.
