5 killed from mine gas in Inner Mongolia
Updated: 2009-01-19 10:45 Five workers died of poisonous gas inhalation in a mine shaft in the Inner Mongolia autonomous region, a government spokesman confirmed on Saturday. The incident occurred at about 5 pm on Friday at a mine, which belonged to the Shenhua Group Baotou Mining Co Ltd in Erdos city, a spokesman for the regional work safety bureau said. The unidentified gas poisoned five people, one of whom died on Friday and the other four on Saturday in hospital. Investigations into the accident are under way. |
