Stray dogs can often be found in the stricken area. Peace Ark's field hospital along the shore receives up to 10 dog bite patients a day. One medic accidentally dropped a piece of compressed biscuit, and a pack of dogs in the distance got a whiff of the smell, rushing toward it and scaring people away.
