Is job hopping a bad thing?

I see no reason to remain loyal to an employer who doesn't reciprocate. I want stability, but I'm not willing to waste 5 years of my life working for a company when I have no opportunity of advancement, low pay, a poor environment, and zero benefits. If companies want us to stick around, they have to give us a reason to stay.
