Should reporting on pending cases banned?

Media coverage plays a big role in promoting judicial fairness and social justice. Many victims' legal rights would not have been safeguarded if journalists had not exposed their cases to the public. The latest example in China is the correction of a wrongful conviction of Huugjilt, a man who was wrongly executed for rape and murder at age 18.

Should reporting on pending cases banned?
