The interactive abilities will not only make learning easier but be more fun for many students. Digital devices won't be fully replacing pen and paper anytime soon but things like basic handwriting skills are learnt at a much younger age anyway. Plus, it's much easier to carry around a digital device then a bag full of heavy books and tools that can all be used on one device.
