Gaokaois not the end of life You feel desperate because you have put too much hope and effort in the exam. But you have to know that it's only one turning point. Do what you are interested in with your heart and soul. Life has to be continued. Death frees you but it gives a huge shock to those who love you.

One problem in the Chinese education system is that once you fail the gaokao, it's very difficult to be admitted to a good college. But actually it doesn't matter because, to be honest, I don't think today Chinese colleges are playing its role in a proper way. You can learn more even if you are not in a college.
