I'm a parent and I know that it's only natural to want to help my kids every step of the way. But I also know that that's not necessarily the best thing for them. Even if it means they don't get the job, don't write a good enough essay to get into the college of their choice, or don't turn in as good a performance at work as they could, I have to accept that they will learn from it.

 

What surprised you the most in China?	Should Chinese care about "face"?	Laowai, is the term offensive?
