Union saves itself with bloggers

Cyber writers shouldn't be too glad to be accepted as members of the writer's association because their admission stems from the association's need to save itself, says an article on the website www.sznews.com. Following is an excerpt:

The writer's association of Hubei province has recently lowered its threshold to admit cyberspace writers. As long as one has blogged more than half a million words or served as an administrator of a literature section of a website for more than three years, one can apply to join the writer's association in Hubei.

Cyber writers have been accepted by the union to save itself.

On the one hand, it wants to enhance literary creation; on the other, it hopes to retain its status as the administrative organ of writers and protect interests of old members and officials.

Cyberspace writing has been emerging in recent years and quite a number of websites have developed into a platform for literary works. Cyber writers and bloggers have become a new force of literary creation.

As a result, the writer's association can't turn a blind eye any more to the rise of cyber writers and has thus been forced to admit them into its organization.
