Liu Xiang named as candidate for IOC Athlete′s Commission

Champion Chinese hurdler Liu Xiang has been named as one of 31 candidates in elections for the International Olympic Committee Athletes' Commission.
The vote will be held during the Beijing Games in 2008.
Four places are available, replacing Sergey Bubka, Robert Ctvrtlik, Barbara Kendall and Alexander Popov.
The Athletes' Commission serves as a link between athletes and the International Olympic Committee. Amelie Mauresmo, Justine Henin and Grant Hackett are among others on the candidate list.
