Guangzhou Hi-Tech Zone sent a delegation to visit its counterpart in Kunming on Dec 10. Directors of the two hi-tech zones exchanged views on the industrial development of the city.

Zhao Weiguo, leader of the delegation from Guangzhou Hi-Tech Zone, said at the meeting that they came to gain some experience from Kunming on financing, investment attraction and integrated development of industry and city. Pei Yanbing, vice-director of the administrative committee of the Kunming Hi-Tech Zone responded by outlining the zone’s development history and industrial distribution and officials of the relevant departments explained to Zhao the specific measurements they employed.

Hearing the explanation, Zhao showed great interest in the construction of an “Internet financial center” as a way to deal with financial matters. The two sides held deeper discussions on this topic.

After the discussions, the two zones expressed their willingness to enhance communication and cooperation since “the meeting was really inspiring”, said Pei afterwards.
