Li Zuofang is a senior citizen living in the city of Karamay, Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region. She has been devoting her time to helping those living a hard life.
Li used to help Mehmet, a local belonging to the Uygur ethnic group who lived on minimum subsistence allowances. Li send Mehmet rice, flour, oil and other articles for daily use regularly until he passed away in July 2013.
After Mehmet's death, Li rested at home due to illness. As soon as she got better in spring, she returned to helping those with difficulties.
