Shenyang, capital of Northeast China's Liaoning province, recently kicked off its 2020 summer tourism festival which includes more than 100 activities, according to local officials.

Running until August, the activities are divided into four areas: entertainment, flowers, arts and food.

In addition, the city also designed 10 travel routes for tourists to enjoy a great summer, including a trek along the Hunhe River, a visit to the forests, a journey to the lakes and a night tour.

Designers said the routes cover more than 100 tourist attractions in Shenyang, such as Bird Island, Wolong Lake, Dingxiang Lake, Qipan Mountain scenic area, the Liaoning Provincial Museum and the Liaoning Provincial Library.

Due to the novel coronavirus epidemic, tourists are advised to check activities and opening times of tourist attractions before the travels and to adopt comprehensive self-protection measures during travels.
