China Southern Airlines opened a new route linking Chongqing and Macao on Nov 14, following the launch of two routes from Wuhan and Changsha to Macao on Oct 27, according to airline officials.

Officials said the three routes all offer new choice for people in Shenyang, capital of Liaoning province, to travel to Macao.

In winter, Liaoning and Shenyang locals prefer to spend their holiday in southern cities to escape the cold. With the rapid development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Macao has been an increasingly popular destination among Shenyang tourists, officials said.

Previously, Shenyang tourists mainly took flights to Zhuhai in Guangdong province and then travelled on to Macao.

With three newly launched routes, Shenyang visitors can now also first fly to Chongqing, Wuhan, or Changsha, and then go on to Macao by air.

The Chongqing-Macao flight service is offered every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. Shenyang travelers can fly to Chongqing and then take the CZ575 flight to Macao, which will take off at 8 pm.
