Shenyang City University took the crown in the humanoid robot competition at the 2019 RoboCup China Open, the official regional RoboCup competition, on April 21 in Shaoxing city, Zhejiang province, and will also participate in the RoboCup Finals held in Sydney in July. The RoboCup is an influential global robot competition.

This was Shenyang City University’s second time in a row winning the RoboCup China Open, as it also won last year when it participated for the first time.

The winning robot was independently researched and developed by the SIASUN & Green Island Soccer Robot Engineering Center of Shenyang City University, which has its own intellectual property rights. The robot is notable for its vision, autonomous navigation, and speech recognition.

More than 100 teachers and students from nine universities, including Tsinghua University, Zhejiang University, and Sichuan University, participated in the competition.
