Shenyang Normal University in Shenyang, Northeast China’s Liaoning province, held an opening ceremony to welcome freshmen for the school opening day on Sept 3.

A total of 4,722 freshmen from 27 provinces, cities and autonomous regions in the country, and 178 students from 26 foreign countries attended the ceremony.

Teachers, directors of various departments, and some parents also took part in the ceremony.

Hao Deyong, president of the university, addressed the ceremony, saying that the university offers a comprehensive education to students, and encouraging freshmen to not waste time while in school.

An introduction video for the university was played for freshmen at the ceremony, as well as performances from the school’s teachers and students.
