Shenyang Qipan Mountain is the furthermost part of the Changbai Mountain range still connected to the great mountains of Northeast China. Qipan Mountain Scenic Area is the biggest natural scenic zone in Shenyang and covers 190 square kilometers. The zone includes plant and animal reserves, a water sports area, a ski area, a central service area, a hunting area and a villa area. Combining natural and manmade landscapes, Qipan Mountain Scenic Area was listed as a national 4A tourist attraction in 2000.
