This is responsible for trial supervision cases where a defendant challenges a judgment or ruling by the Supreme People’s Court; trial supervision cases involving criminal and civil matters where the defendant challenges a judgment or rulings by a lower people’s court; retrial cases protested by the Supreme People's Procuratorate; examination of criminal cases having a rehearing; and cases involving a reduction of sentence, release on parole, or temporary serving of a sentence outside the prison.
