A group made up of 10 Shanxi universities will help 10 counties below the poverty line escape poor conditions, according to a meeting held in Taiyuan on Oct 12.
Experts from the 10 universities, which include Shanxi University, Taiyuan University of Technology and Taiyuan University of Science and Technology, will adopt internet technologies to assist Jingle, Pianguan, Ningwu and seven other counties.
Based on identified needs, the universities will provide support in human capital and intelligence by sharing think tanks and technologies.
A total of 10 events, including educational aid and medical service support, will be launched during the poverty alleviation program. For example, the 10 universities will offer special support in teaching, faculty training, and school management to advance basic education in these poverty-stricken areas.
