Technical achievements made in Shanxi were showcased to celebrate the upcoming 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC), at an exhibition in Taiyuan, North China's Shanxi province, on Sept 28.
Some 700 achievements were displayed, covering such areas as new materials, new energy, biological medicine and coal bed gas.
According to statistics provided by the Shanxi Provincial Department of Science and Technology, since the 18th CPC National Congress in 2012, Shanxi has hosted and co-hosted 43 technical programs that have received national awards.
Over the past five years, Shanxi province has spent 1.36 billion yuan ($207.28 million) on scientific and technical innovation.
In May 2017, the Shanxi Provincial Department of Science and Technology conducted a survey to collect enterprises' needs relating to scientific and technical innovation, in order to better connect their needs to current technical achievements.
