In Mount Zhongtiaoshan, in the city of Yuncheng, Shanxi province, construction work on the Zhongtiaosan Tunnel of the Mengxi-Huazhong Railway is proceeding quickly, according to Xinhua News.
With 600 members of staff working around the clock, nearly 70 percent of the construction work has been completed since May 2015.
The railway line starts in Haolebaoji, Inner Mongolia autonomous region, and runs to Ji'an, East China's Jiangxi province, as a key national railway project aimed at transporting coal from the mineral rich north to the south, where demand is heavy.
The Yuncheng section of the railway covers a length of 134 kilometers and the Zhongtiaoshan Tunnel covers 18.4 km.
