The third Shanxi Cultural Industries Fair came to a close on Aug 28, having made 190 million yuan ($28.86 million) in revenue in its five days, with another 4.1 billion yuan expected based on intentions expressed at the fair.
The event featured exhibitions, forums, shows and trade fairs, and attracted more than 1,000 businesses from around China and 23 countries and regions, including Russia, the United Kingdom, France and Hong Kong.
Over 10,000 different culture-related products were showcased, including crafts, food, media and animations, giving the 259,000 visitors more choice than previous fairs.
"The activity, themed around culture and openness, has successfully promoted cultural exchange and business cooperation in the province," said Li Fuming, chief of the provincial publicity department.
The five-day event also witnessed the signing of 83 cooperation agreements for culture-related projects, including press and publication, online games and the construction of culture parks and towns, with a total investment of 26.9 billion yuan.
