Twenty nine art projects in Shanxi have been selected in the 2016 China National Arts Fund, again ranking near the top of the list for arts funding, Xinhua reported on Aug 24.
In the past three years, Shanxi province has won arts subsidies in the range of 80 million yuan ($12.02 million).
According to Shanxi Provincial Cultural Department, since the application of China National Arts Fund in 2014, Shanxi province has ranked in first place for funding for operas in the past two years straight, accounting for one tenth of all projects.
In addition to traditional artistic forms including stage plays, modern drama, traditional Jin opera, and Chinese paintings, subsidies are also invested to help foster young artists, improve communication and promote projects and artistic talent.
