The first Chuama Music Festival opened in Jincheng, Shanxi province, on July 17, with around 10 local bands, composed of young people, and 10,000 music lovers taking part in the carnival atmosphere. "Chua" is a word from the local Jincheng dialect, meaning a young man who is energetic and smart and it gave the festival inspiration for a cartoon character, "Chuama", representing the freedom and individuality of young people's music.
