Construction work on the new South Railway Station, in Taiyuan, the capital of Shanxi province, is nearing its finish, an important milestone in the Shijiazhuang-Taiyuan railway passenger line project. Shijiazhuang is the capital of Hebei province. The new station borrows design elements and styles from the Tang (AD618-907) and Jing (1115-1234) dynasties to give it charm.
