Shanxi province has announced that it now has 11 cities that have work on a digital city construction project. Of the 11, Taiyuan, Jincheng, Jinzhong, and Yangquan have already hit the construction target, while the seven others -- Changzhi, Datong, Xinzhou, Shuozhou, Yuncheng, Linfen, and Lvliang – will get to work on the digital city geography, space, and framework later on.

The term ‘digital city’ refers to a largely digitalized city, with virtual and real access to it on the Internet, through computer, multi-media, and large-scale storage technology.
