A summit on entrepreneurship and investment was held at Shanghai Jiao Tong University on April 18, gathering dozens of guests including policy-makers, scholars, financial professionals and an audience of nearly 1,000.

The theme of the event was to inspire especially young entrepreneurs to make better use of financial capital to boost science and innovation, which have become driving forces of today's industrial revolution.

Zhang Zhihong, director of the Torch High Technology Industry Development Center, Ministry of Science & Technology, delivered a speech on public innovation and entrepreneurship. Hua Ping, managing partner of SBCVC, also shared his view on investment in technology and innovation for industry upgrading.

The summit also witnessed the establishment of an "investment and entrepreneurship" club formed by the university's graduates with the goal of fostering future business leaders and sharing their resources.
