The government of Pudong New District and the Shanghai Financial Service Office recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to enhance mutual cooperation on key financial projects.

According to the MoU signed, the two parties will augment communication and put their advantages in policies, resources and information into joint use to help Shanghai grow into an international financial center. Both sides have also agreed to promote financial reform in the Shanghai Free Trade Zone.

Up to 26 major financial projects are involved in the deal, including the cooperation on creating an international assets exchange platform at the Shanghai Stock Exchange and launching Shanghai insurance exchange.
