Those with a love of drinking beer gathered in the Underground River scenic area in Lianzhou county, Qingyuan city of Guangdong province, for a beer-drinking competition on July 24.
Organizers of the competition divided the contestants into several groups of 5-6 each. Winners of each group would get an admission ticket for the Underground River scenic area, a case of Tsingtao Beer and a 50 yuan voucher for the Qingdao Draft Beer City.
At around noon, the competition to find who possessed the greatest drinking abilities began. Who ever finishes drinking three 500ml glasses of beer first won. In the end, the competition winner took just two and a half minutes.
"It really is a lot of fun participating in the competition and, it’s such a joy to be able to drink cool beer in such hot weather,” said a contestant, a tourist to Lianzhou.
