"Spatz" is a German word for "sparrow", the symbol of the city of Ulm, southern Germany. Founded in 1958, Ulm Spatz, as one of well-known choirs in Germany, consists of 225 young musicians, who can sing classical choir music as well jazz and pop.

These children gave scores of concerts in the UK, the US, Russia, Japan, Holland, South Africa and Israel. In 2002, they were awarded the top prize at the Germany International Choir Festival and earned high reputation at the European Music Festival in Belgium in 2004.
