Qingdao will host the 2013 World City Music Festival from Aug 24-25 at Golden Beach (Jinshatan), Huangdao district.

The World City Music Festival, founded in 2009 by Beijing Pilot Music Corporation, used to take place in Beijing's Chaoyang Park. It has now become a large-scale outdoor music festival.

The festival this year is hosted by the Huangdao municipal government and Qingdao Economic and Technological Development Zone.

Joining the festival are China's top singers. They include rock stars Zang Tianshuo, Zheng Jun and Gao Qi; folk singers Chen Qizhen and Haoyun; and Taiwan's famous music producer Yuan Weiren. Bands such as Reflector, Face, CMCB, Warbaby and Fake Shark Real Zombie from Canada will also participate in the festival.
