A total of 120 trains were shipped from Qingdao, a coastal city of Shandong province, to Sri Lanka on Thursday.

The Diesel Electric Multiple Units were manufactured by a leading rolling stock manufacturer, Qingdao-based CSR Sifang Co Ltd. They have a maximum speed of 120 km per hour, according to the company.

The shipment is the third delivery from the company to Sri Lanka. The company exported 180 trains to the country from 2000 to 2008.
