This project, as part of an overall project to rehabilitate and improve Sri Lanka's national B-level roads, was contracted to Sinohydro Bureau 3 Co and China Dalian International Economic & Technical Cooperation Group.

Located in the center of Sri Lanka, it has an overall length of 143.62 kilometers, and passes through many types of terrain, such as mountains, plains, and river basins, in addition to cities, towns and residential areas. Existing roads, bridges, and culverts will be rehabilitated and improved along with the construction of relevant ancillary projects. Six roads running along Sri Lanka's famous attractions will be built, accelarating the country's tourism development.
