2015-07-14

China’s total production of new energy vehicles accumulated 200,000 by this June, according to the 2015 China (Changchun) International Vehicle Technology Forum from July 12 to 13 in Changchun, Jilin province.

The forum also revealed that 78,500 vehicles were produced in the first half of this year, three times more than the same period last year.

The energy-saving and new energy vehicles are a driving force and an important part of the Made in China 2025 Plan, said Qu Guochun, deputy?head of the Department of Finance and Equipment?in the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.

The Made in China 2025 Plan is a State strategy to enhance the country’s manufacturing industry.

“Some auto companies, such as China FAW Group Corporation and SAIC Motor Corporation Limited, have done lots of?basic research, prototype development and trials on auto?intelligent technologies, and some of these technologies are already being industrialized,” Qu added.

The forum also discussed the prospects of China’s auto industry, as Li Jun, a scholar of the Chinese Academy of Engineering said, “the trend is lightweight and this requires joint innovation in material, designing and processing”.

The forum was co-held by SAE-China, Jilin University, China FAW Group Corporation and Changchun municipal government.
