The fourth session of the 12th Zhangjiagang Municipal Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) opened on Jan 3 and concluded on Jan 6.

A total of 322 political advisers attended the event and were briefed on the work report of the standing committee over the past year. They also reviewed proposals made at the opening ceremony.

During the four-day event, 332 proposals were raised, including 73 related to economic, scientific, and technological development, 65 on urban and rural development, 55 on social governance, and 134 on improving living standards.

Group panel discussions on the work report and proposals were also held.
