Baotou's rare earth high-tech industrial district recently began gearing up for construction of its airport economic zone near Baotou Airport, with creation of a special work group to draw the layouts and blueprints. The project is expected to accelerate the city's logistics and transnational e-commerce business.

With the zone under way, the city now has its eyes firmly set on a new stage of economic growth based on advanced logistics, e-commerce and new business.
