As a celebration of the 60th anniversary of Inner Mongolia Normal University (IMNU)'s arts disciplines, Chi Baolege performed a concert?of matouqin, or horse-head fiddle, in the university on Jan 16.

Chi Baolege, a world-renowned matouqin player and a part-time professor in IMNU, played classical songs with his students.

Baolege's career was highlighted by some "firsts": he was the first Chinese to hold a concert in Mongolia, and the founder of the first matouqin band. He performed the first matouqin concert in Wiener Musikvereink Vienna, Austria.

To date, the 70-year-old matouqin performer has over 50,000 students throughout the country. He said he lives for matouqin.
