Ecuadorian Vice President witnesses opening of CGGC-built Highway

On February 17 local time, the Guarumal-Mendez Highway, a road project in Ecuador constructed by a joint venture between CGGC and the Ecuadorian company FOPECA, was opened to traffic.

The historical event was witnessed by Jorge Glas, Vice President of Ecuador; Esteban Albornoz, Ecuadorian power and renewable energy minister; and Tito Torres, Manager of the Paute River Company.

Seventy kilometers long and 7.5 meters wide, the two-way two-lane highway is paved with concrete. As an important part of the Sopra Dora Hydropower Station, the highway will greatly improve the local traffic conditions.
