A Ruzhou numismatist showed a rare ancient coin regarded as "peaceful currency" with a square hole in the center to a reporter on Feb, 29, 2012.

The diameter of this coin is 65 millimeter (mm) and the diameter of the hole is 20 mm. It is about 4 mm in depth and 100 grams in weight. When magnified 45 times, its gold plating can be distinctly seen.

There are two crossed treasured swords with tassels hung around the handles on the back of the coin. The profile of a turtle and a snake are also on back of the coin. The turtle and snake indicate longevity in ancient times. The coin with a square hole in center may indicate the legend of "Round Sky and Square Earth".

It is said that this kind of coin dates back to the Han dynasty. The components of this kind of coin are rough so folk people used to call it "Hua money". The experts considered this rare gold-plated ancient China coin "peaceful currency" in Ruzhou.
