"The new species, Hongyou Toona sinensis, sells at more than 20 yuan (﹩3.17) per 500 grams. It has just been harvested and the second harvesting will start less than 20 days later," said Dong Xuexin.

Many Ruzhou farmers have begun to grow rare vegetables such as cherries, radishes and a new species of tomatoes in greenhouses.

Zhang Jiangqi, vice mayor of Ruzhou city, said, "the Ruzhou municipal government introduced scientific information and new species of crops to promote incomes of farmers. Meanwhile, the government optimized its agriculture structure. Incomes have doubled through such practices."

Combined Ruzhou agricultural annual income has exceeded 500 million yuan, while the average income of each farmer increased by more than 1,300 yuan.
