Photographer Huang Rui of Pingdingshan in Henan province won the top prize at the first “The world in the Eyes of Chinese People” national photo contest held on June 13, in Beijing. Huang’s The Pieces of a City was shot in Northern Europe, pdsxww.com reported.
More than 8,400 photographs were solicited from the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong, Macao, the United Staets, Canada and Great Britain. Awards were announced for 100 of the photogrpahs.

Huang’s photograph, The Fall in Mountains, was awarded the bronze prize at the Pingdingshan National Photo Contest, which was held on April 23.
