Yaoshan Scenic Area is a marvelous collection of various scenic attractions, such as rushing waterfalls, hot springs, lakes, sea of clouds, virgin forests, rare animals and many historical sites. While the central plain of China burns with an average temperature of 35-38℃in midsummer, Yaoshan remains only 23-26℃.
The great Buddha of Yaoshan is made of copper and is 153 meters tall. It was built in 2002, and this Buddha statue in Central China has stolen the title of “No.1 Buddha statue” from Lingshan Buddha in Wuxi.
