The Blue Sky Park in Nanyang, Henan province, opened to the public on Dec 29 after an upgrading project.

Li Jiakun, deputy director of the standing committee of the Nanyang municipal people's congress, and Zhu Haijun, deputy mayor of the city, attended the opening ceremony.

The Blue Sky Park is located on the central part of North Renmin Road in the urban area, with a total floor area of 10,120 square meters. The modification work started on Oct 10, and added 345 trees and shrubs, a 7,000-square-meter lawn, stone tables and benches, pavilions and more activity space for visitors.

Moreover, to show something of the city's culture, some sculptures were placed in the park to introduce the history of the Blue Sky Park and of the Hump course and Nanyang Airport.
