Guizhou plans to produce 800,000 kiloliters of white spirits by 2020 to generate an industrial output value of 120 billion yuan ($17.74 billion) and occupy eight percent of the national white spirits sales volume.
The goals were set forth by the general office of the provincial government, who also issued suggestions to help achieve them. The suggestions include supporting Moutai Group’s full development to make it an international holding group and integrating tourism with the alcohol industry by creating tour lines that combine white spirits with ecological tourism, red tourism and rural tourism.
Guizhou will also build the white spirits industrial developing system with powerful brands, good quality, mix optimization and cluster development. And it will fight against the bogus white spirits, rectifying and regulating the market order to ensure the reputation of white spirits brands.
